Christmas Season Services

Plymouth celebrates the beginning of the Advent season with the “Hanging of the Greens” service. This beloved service celebrates the first Sunday of the Advent season through traditional music, drama, and decorations.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Christmas Eve
On  Christmas Eve, Plymouth holds three distinct services.

At 5 pm our Family Service is offered.
This is a family service for all ages, full of the energy, wonder and awe that little ones bring to Christmas. Our service concludes with music and a live creche scene for the children to see and animals to pet are outside in the Cloister Garden.

At 8 pm our Traditional Service is offered.
This service embraces the traditional lessons and carols that are dear to us. It is further enhanced by Plymouth's robust chancel choir accompanied by musicians playing horns, wind and string instruments and our congregation joining in the singing of carols.

At 11 pm our Communion Service is offered.
This service is similar to our Traditional Service with the addition of the Service of Communion which is open to all.  Communion is served at your seats and the service concludes with the congregation singing “Silent Night” by candlelight.

Christmas Day

On Christmas Day, Plymouth offers a morning Christmas Service. At 10 am Plymouth holds a brief, informal family service. The Christmas Story and a special Christmas prayer are the focus of this service.
