May 19: Service for William H. (Bill) Fountain

A memorial service for William Henry (Bill) Fountain, a veteran of World War II and a long-time Miami dentist, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Plymouth Congregational Church.

Bill was born on Sept. 28, 1917, in Missouri and spent part of his life as a farmer near the town of Kirksville. As part of his early education, he attended a one-room schoolhouse for about four years. After high school he graduated from Northeast Missouri State University, where he majored in health and physical education.

May 20: An Adult Education Opportunity

“What’s faith got to do with it?” On Sunday, May 20, in Pilgrim House, following the service of worship, we will take a look at the implications of this question. Inspired by Lee Strobel’s book entitled The Case for Faith: A Journalist Investigates the Toughest Objections to Christianity, this discussion will look at what the Bible says about faith and the objections to faith which Mr. Strobel presents. It is not necessary to have read the book to participate in the discussion. The conversation promises to be thought provoking, as is Mr. Strobel’s book.
