Easter Season
Lent
Ash Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. — We hold a service of scripture, song and prayer in the sanctuary led by our pastoral staff; the imposition of ashes is available.
Holy Week
Palm Sunday, 10 a.m. — We begin our worship with a procession including a church member representing Jesus during his triumphal entry into Jerusalem (our sanctuary) while our children wave palm fronds. (Children may observe a donkey in the church garden after the service.) The service then proceeds in word and music to mark Jesus’ journey into Jerusalem and through Holy Week leading to Easter.
Maundy Thursday, 7:30 p.m. — A service of Tenebrae, Confirmation and Communion. Our youth are confirmed and share in the leadership during this service.
Good Friday, noon — We hold a joint service with our sister church, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, here at Plymouth Church.
Easter Sunday — We begin with a 6:30 a.m. Sunrise Service with Communion in the Cloister Garden. At 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Plymouth holds festival services of word and music. There is an Easter egg hunt for the little ones held after the 9 a.m. service.
